New Alignment

During late October the lab had to undergo some work on Prometheus, so seizing the chance, Anthony and Sankar decided to overhaul the beamline from Prometheus' back end all the way to the chamber. This meant installing new vacuum chambers and tubes in the back end as well as a lengthy and exhaustive overhaul of the beam alignment system.

The work was long, but the results are great: a truly seed-guide beam coaxial alignment. This ensures higher reproducibility of alignment, fewer beam cuts, and a better focus.
