Lara Ansari's Story

Lara Ansari is currently an undergraduate in UIC’s Bioengineering/Pre-med program, pursuing both a major in Bioengineering and a minor in Physics. Her interest in medicine and medical imaging stemmed from an avid interest in particle and nuclear physics, as she had always been inspired by the incredible technological challenges of designing high-energy particle accelerators, light sources, and even reactors for containing nuclear chain reactions. As a future physician and bioengineer, she is interested in the application of diagnostic imaging to pediatric cases, which is beneficial not only in reducing radiation doses for children, but in discovering more efficient ways to reduce the radiation doses assumed by adults, as well. Lara is very excited about the research conducted by Professor Rhodes in X-ray imaging, and is thrilled to be a part of the team!

Despite spending time on the Team, Lara's passion was still in medicine. Deciding to pursue her dreams she began a study with a doctor on west campus. Her input and help will be missed.
