Seed Pulse-Hurricane:
Seed pulses of the laser system are generated by Hurricane laser system designed and made by Spectra-Physics. Hurricane is a traditional titanium-sapphire oscillator – amplifier system with chirped pulse amplification (CPA) arrangement. Pulses of the Hurricane system are generated by Mai Tai oscillator. Mai Tai beam is amplified by CPA technique (stretcher – regenerative amplifier - compressor). The pump of the regenerative amplifier is an Evolution diode laser.
The Hurricane is a custom designed system due to it working on 745 nm (not 800 nm). Main beam parameters of the Hurricane output are:
- pulse power: 250-280 mW
- pulse duration: ~ 120 fs
- wavelength: 745 nm
- beam size: ~ 5 mm in diameter
